WreckD TV
Bring YouTube channels and local videos to supported GTA V Story Mode televisions, with a retro guide and playback controls. Requires Story NUI.
Overview
Give GTA V’s televisions your own lineup. WreckD TV plays supported YouTube videos and local video files on supported Story Mode televisions, with a retro program guide for choosing channels and controlling playback.
Your TV lineup
- Name channels in a text file and reload the list from the guide.
- Enter a supported YouTube video URL for direct playback.
- Play local MP4, WebM or OGV files; WebM is recommended by the packaged instructions.
- Pause, resume, adjust volume, mute or turn the TV off.
- Use supported native TV interactions for channel and volume changes, including couch viewing.
- Retain playback settings for individual screens while supported by the loaded television.
Channels and local files
Edit scripts/WreckDTV/Channels.txt. For YouTube, use Channel Name | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID. Full video URLs also work; blank lines and lines starting with # are ignored. Save the file, then select Reload list.
Place local videos directly in scripts/WreckDTV/videos. In the F6 guide, reload the list, choose Local videos, then Play file. Subfolders are not scanned.
Controls
F6 opens or closes the guide. F10 toggles mute. At supported GTA TV controls, left/right changes channels and up/down adjusts volume.
Originally made as a proof of concept for DanJaLey, then expanded into a fuller television mod. The published package contains the WreckDTV 2.1.0 build; the site release label is 1.1.0.

Installation
- Close GTA V. Install Story NUI and its listed prerequisites first.
- Copy WreckDTV.dll and the WreckDTV folder from the archive into GTA V/scripts. The archive has no GTA Root wrapper folder.
- Back up an existing WreckDTV folder before merging so you can retain your channels and settings.
- Start Story Mode, approach a supported television and press F6. Edit scripts/WreckDTV/Channels.txt to set up your lineup.
