GTA VI launch guide: release date, platforms and preload details

Checked October 13, 2026. Rockstar currently lists GTA VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. These are the platforms named on the official launch page.

Preload starts November 12

Rockstar’s support guide says preloading begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. Installing in advance is preparation for launch, not permission to play a week early. The launch date alone should not be read as a confirmed global unlock time.

Standard, Ultimate and the boxed version

The support guide lists Standard and Ultimate editions, with an Ultimate upgrade available separately. It also states that the boxed Standard version contains a digital download code rather than a disc. Retailer availability is expected from November 12 to support preloading.

Check the version and account region before buying, particularly when purchasing a boxed copy from another country. Rockstar’s support page provides the region-specific redemption details.

What about PC and mods?

PC is not included in the current official platform list. The pages checked for this guide do not provide a PC release date or a GTA VI modding launch schedule. We therefore cannot turn the console countdown into a PC or mod-availability promise.

On WreckD, GTA VI publishing remains locked while the PC release and modding availability are unresolved. That is our site policy, separate from Rockstar’s console announcement. You can continue exploring GTA V releases while waiting.

Keep the official pages bookmarked

Schedules can change. Before planning downloads or a purchase, recheck Rockstar’s GTA VI launch page and its platform, edition and preload support guide.
