Your add-on. Your choices.
This policy covers WreckD — Mod Feed for Chrome and its communication with wreckd.net. The WreckD website privacy policy also applies to your site account and website use.
Public feed and local storage
The add-on fetches public release titles, cover images, creator names, versions, and links from WreckD. It caches that public feed locally so it can show saved releases during a connection failure. It does not store private messages, notification contents, account passwords, or an account token in extension storage.
Optional account connection
When you are signed in to wreckd.net in the same Chrome profile, authenticated HTTPS requests use the existing WreckD session cookies. The add-on displays your username and avatar, message conversations and notification activity, and submits replies you choose to send. It processes WreckD account identifiers, authentication cookies, personal communications and WreckD website content only to provide these visible features. Notifications can include purchase confirmations, credit amounts, donation confirmations or other account transaction messages; the add-on displays those notifications but does not access card numbers, bank accounts, payment credentials or credit reports. It does not ask for your password or read unrelated websites. The session cookies remain under Chrome’s normal cookie controls; the add-on does not copy or export them.
Unread badge
While Chrome runs, the background worker requests only unread message and notification counts about once a minute. It does not fetch message contents for the badge, extend an inactive sign-in, or send analytics about background checks. Blocked, muted and archived conversations are excluded from message counts. Sign-out or expiry clears the badge on its next successful check.
Optional aggregate analytics
WreckD may count popup opens, extension versions, tab use, clicks on public mod releases, site arrivals, eligible hosted download completions, and successful or failed feed/account/reply operations. Stored metrics contain only UTC day, version, event category, tab, public mod ID where relevant, and totals. Public mod clicks and WreckD landings are limited WreckD resource-interaction history; no history from other websites is collected. No message text, notification text, conversation participants, usernames, account IDs, persistent extension IDs or raw errors enter these metrics. Metrics have a 90-day reporting and cleanup window.
These events follow your existing WreckD privacy choice, regional session analytics defaults, Do Not Track, and Global Privacy Control. Approximate country may be determined on the server from the connection IP solely to apply the existing regional consent policy; the extension report does not store an IP or location. Staff and test accounts are excluded. Change your choice on WreckD, then refresh or reopen the popup. Server-side opt-outs apply immediately to subsequent events.
Incognito
Split mode keeps regular and Incognito cookie sessions separate. Incognito does not inherit your regular WreckD sign-in. Add-on analytics and shared public-feed cache reads/writes are disabled there. You can sign in separately inside Incognito if you want its account features.
Setup-page detection
A content script runs only on https://wreckd.net/extension-setup.php. It sends the installed extension version to that page to confirm installation. No account data, cookie, password or message is passed through this page bridge.
Use, sharing and security
Requests are sent over HTTPS to WreckD. Data is used to provide the public feed, requested account communication features, unread counts, setup detection, and the limited aggregate analytics described above. We do not sell extension user data, share it with advertising networks, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. Website hosting processes requests to deliver the service; normal infrastructure logs are governed by the website privacy policy. We do not collect browsing history outside WreckD or run executable code supplied by a remote service.
The use of information received through this extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Account message retention and account deletion are governed by WreckD’s website privacy policy; removing the extension does not delete messages from your WreckD account.
Your controls
Use the add-on without signing in for the public feed. Sign out of WreckD to disconnect account features. Change analytics choices on the site, clear the add-on’s data or uninstall it in Chrome, and contact WreckD through the contact page for account/data questions or deletion requests. No extension data is supplied to third parties for unrelated purposes.
